Price the format honestly
Compare the cost per completed project rather than the sticker price. A $300 self-paced course you never finish costs more per finished study than a $1,000 cohort that gets two defensible projects over the line. The reverse is true when work prevents you from attending the live program you paid for.
Add the hidden costs: market data, cloud notebooks, backtesting platforms, books, extensions, and support after the formal course ends. Cohort tuition often bundles feedback. Self-paced access may bundle software or data. Read the access terms and write the total in one place.
